but there is nothing else to do ingame in august and the eggs are so tied to the game plot that it's impossible to truly avoid even if you aren't playing it directly

as another anon said it's not an opt out if the only way to avoid is "take a hiatus and don't play this month"

Yeah same tbh. Eggpreg and related parasitosis horror is extremely not my jam so I'm just doing other August prompts and asking my cr to keep it light on the eggy worm talk.

on second though, okay, i'll give you that, it IS possible to weasel around the eggpreg stuff. however like above anon said, it does require you to almost entirely avoid the game plot for august. the mods did try to separate out the eggpreg from the stuff with the stomach but the damage is already done and ICly you have to jump through a lot of hoops to separate the two.

and nfn but players are required to engage with events for plot coins so it's still shutting out players who opted out of eggpreg for trigger reasons. not entirely, i know there are other months in the next coin period

my point is it's a bad mod call to build in a bunch of new engagement requirements and then have a huge surprise plot event tied to a common CW that wasn't handled appropriately, with nothing else event related for characters to do in the month

crazy to watch people argue about all this. the game makes engagement difficult and is now making passing activity much harder. we're being punished for not acting like npcs in the mods cr.

+1 especially the plot coin point. it's just adding more stress to an overly convoluted mechanic, and making it really hard to engage in the plot.

i don't think i've seen it mentioned that this plot is meant to run from june to october.

but there are other event things to do. the fallout from the stomach reveal thing can be threaded on the event dog. you can dig into your characters’ political leanings. you can still thread things that are related to the results of the moot hall earlier in august. all of that can be used to earn a plot coin.

i’m not even trying to be argumentative here, i’m just pointing out that there is more than just the eggpreg stuff happening in game, and all of it can be used for earning plot coins.

I agree with you. I guess it's Door #3, technically! If you don't play in the plot, you can't go for a plot coin, either - and how many hiatuses will the mods allow before they tell you to leave?

Players shouldn't have to come up with ways to avoid a plot like this. I swear the game used to be better at balancing things you could do during the month, but the events have become so insular since June.
