dying is still sad. tbh for me i’ve had a few relatives who had lived that long and their passing was still sad even though they lived a full life because they had been a constant pillar in my life, and losing that was hard to come to terms with.

it is a little weird to be emotional devastated by a celeb you have no emotional connection to, but a lot of people do have a parasocial relationship with celebrities and doubly so if they were occupying a very visible part in their childhood.

for me it's the memories attached to the celebs' works. like maybe the movie they were in was something that cheered me up during a dark time or it was a bonding piece with a loved one who is no longer around.
