the first thing i thought of reading this is why get a cat then? why not, assuming you have the money and time to take care of them and just can't kneel down to scoop that poop, get a pet that could fit your lifestyle better?

that said i don't think wanting more convenience is an issue, automatic feeders are a thing for busy people who might be out for more than a day and has helped people i know, but i just don't see the reason to defend a badly designed cleaner that can potentially be a deathtrap.

i hope none of the anons insisting on their right to have pets they can't care for don't actually have pets. i doubt they could manage to keep pet rocks alive.
