they all have tropey characters made for mass appeal and your fave is not somehow deeper. most dwrp popular canons are always going to be shallow as a kiddie pool bc its easier to rp from and that's it

OP of that comment and I mostly meant that it's an extra bummer to see the same character over and over again when they're from big casts, but "better" was a headass word to use in that context so yeah, didn't communicate my point well. My faves definitely aren't deeper.

it's listed as "Action, mystery, supernatural" and being published in a seinen magazine (young ace)

i know people use shonen as an umbrella term for genre, but it's actually a demographic that says more about the audience it's aimed at, so i guess anything could fall under shonen as long as it's being published in a shonen magazine

oooh nooo why would people want to play the main and most developed characters in a series instead of over inflating the importance and appeal of my favorite minor character whom i've projected 5000 headcanons on to make them interesting

it's fun to build up minor characters with what you're given tho
