it's just a gooner game with nice combat.

feels like half the game dropped, and the only ones left are the lifers (been here for like 5+ years) and the bad ones

sadly there’s such a low barrier to entry and the ac is so minimal, a person can really just coast

most of my friends who dropped said it was the lack of purpose in the game, and i def agree. once you get a contract and a business, you’re pretty much done. nothing else for your character to work towards or care about. no a/c rewards so there’s nothing to be gained IC for being active. it’s basically a smutty sandbox, which sucks because that’s not really how the game markets itself

the two aren't mutually exclusive, it can be a legit fun game and even have a decent story and still be marketed toward gooners

honestly i hate both sides of that 'debate,' both the neckbearded incels who think buying it is sticking it to the sjw scolds, and the actual sjw scolds who started this shit by writing clickbait articles about how games with lumberjack womyn with hair everywhere on their bodies except their scalp is stunning and brave

like for fuck's sake judge art on its merits, not on how much it triggers the people you hate

i dropped because the game has become heavily skewered towards horror instead of smut. like i get it horror is part of the problem but it feels like that's all we've gotten lately. you need a breather here and there

even the lifers are dropping now. the last couple of months have seen drops from people who have been in the game literally since it opened

But it's also a great way for characters from canons without to be introduced to the subject. HOTD characters, for example, could finally get the words to explain when, while there are gays in Westeros, is not talked about openly.

Is there any chance of this type of feedback being given to the mods and them doing something to change it? Or is it just a lost cause at this point?

there was an ooc survey a couple of months back that the mods are apparently in the process of reacting to - it read like a lot of the feedback was related to game tone and the overall stagnant nature of the setting, and while it does seem like the mods are making an effort, it might just be a case of too little too late.

plus you also have the people in game who aren't interested in the darker aspect of the setting at all (for ex, I wouldn't say there's been 'too much' horror, unlike one of the other anons, but understandably, that's a very ymmv thing.)

i don't think it helps where this month's event was a total wash for a lot of people. the month before was more intense, but due to the nature of it, i think it was the sort of thing that didn't really encourage a lot of tagging out - and also struggled with a lot of tonal whiplash between the first half of the event and the second.

it can't help that they recently lost the helper mod responsible for event writing in a very melodramatic way

short version is event helper mod apped an oc riddled with triggers and used the private mod channel to nudge for updates on the app. shit somehow went nuclear and helper mod was banned from the community and now is threatening to release the names of all the anon main mods if any further deets leak.
