Or you get characters who are the opposite and their life was such a messy boatload of trauma that the jamjar is actually the closest thing to a normal life they've had.

My character has quite literally never had a normal life before he arrived in the game and now that he has one, he doesn't know what to do with it.

But if that's the case, the character is still in a completely different situation than they are in canon, so they will probably act very differently.
