I agree with you that in most cases, underage sex offenders usually learned the behavior from their own abuse, anon. But he stated explicitly that he'd never been abused, he just found out about sex and started molesting younger children out of curiosity, escalating his behavior when he found out he liked it.
It's not even a "well... it's suspicious..." thing, he straight-up said that he had never been abused.
