i approach the way i write in brackets differently, and it's one i more often feel comfortable with. it may not make a difference for everyone, but it does to some of us.
Another anon chiming in to say that they really do approach the two styles differently, and the content of their prose vs brackets really does reflect the difference. A lot of people may say it's the same damn thing in a different format, but that's the thing for me: format. I guess the most apt way to describe it would be that I treat one like I'm writing a screenplay and the other like I'm writing something more reflective?
