i play annabeth circa pjo and i have a couple of muses from va/bloodlines which is nice?? ahaha so yeah i do the same thing, tell people to read the books and then slowly but steadily enable them until they want to play someone
IT TOTALLY WOULD BE if only because i want to love a character so much that i go out and get (more) books/discover new people to love
yes! i've been dying to play lila zacharov or anna somewhere which i could do without canonmates ofc but it'd be fun to see some of them around - the third is from hold me closer necromancer
i think he (sam) would appeal to people actually (i love him and i'm pretty picky about male leads in ya stuff, especially if/when they're the narrator)
i've also been kicking around the idea of playing someone from the graceling books

I play from Darkest Powers, and it always makes me wish that other people had even heard of it. :'| Probably outing myself but w/e
I've also read Graceling, and I encourage this playing someone from any of them js
