oh for fuck's sake, she copied a bit from a wiki. i don't give a shit that she did that. half of games allow wiki links for history in the first place, who the fuck cares? if she plagiarised from another player or especially a sample post or something then it'd be worth making a fuss over, but seriously? ostracize her over being a bad player if she's a bad player but c/ping a bit of wiki material for an app is nothing.

Tell that to the mods at Outsiders who banned her from the game. So fuck you, too, for making it into nothing when it's a clearly bannable offence. People need to know what a worthless sack of shit she is since she clearly can't be bothered with being original on her apps. If she can't do that right, what makes you think she'll put any effort into RP?

oh yes now i see the mods at some game i know nothing about banned her for it oh shit my opinion has completely changed! why the fuck should i care what those mods decide is bannable or not? do you hate everyone who hates writing history sections and prefers to link a wiki? i have no idea how good a player she is but judging players based on their willingness to write background information is absurd. judge her on her actual threads and actual playing ability.

nice attempt to completely derail the entire point of this thread. i don't know who you are and i literally do not give a shit what you do that has nothing to do with rp.

we are talking about someone in a context where people are expected to produce original writing. it's not a 'tiny thing' when someone decides that their way to prove whether or not they are capable of doing this includes copying and pasting text that they didn't write and then try to claim they didn't realize this was dishonest.

there's a difference between linking to a wiki AND ACKNOWLEDGING THAT YOU ARE LINKING TO A WIKI and presenting someone else's writing as your own how are you missing this

There's a difference between putting a wiki link in where everyone knows it's a link to another source and copy/pasting sections of a wiki into a space that's supposed to be your own writing. One of them is okay, the other is plagiarism.

it's still a really easy dumb mistake to make, especially if you're new to this sort of thing. and it's still such a tiny thing that it's super petty to harrass someone about it ages after the fact when they're at a different game that they apped to without doing it. okay sure it's techically plagiarism but i ask again, who the fuck cares. it's not like it's someone's novel or she's making money off it or gaining fame based on it. it's just a fucking app for some little rp that isn't even this one.

Oh, it's definitely an easy thing to do, and a dumb thing to do. But a mistake? Anyone who has had to write a paper for school EVER knows that you aren't supposed to copy other people's writing and claim it as your own. Do people still do it? Yes, of course. But that doesn't make it right and anyone who gets caught at it gets labeled as a plagiarist because they are one.

I'm not against giving her a second chance, and I'm glad to hear she learned her lesson about plagiarizing, but that doesn't erase the fact that she has plagiarized.

i think this was the first non-wiki link app she'd ever done if that helps. i remember talking to her on aim when she was writing it. also told her she should wait and read it over when she had more than two hours of sleep in her system, but obvs that didn't happen. highly doubt she'll make that mistake again, especially since the posturing asshole above seems to be on her case pretty much every time she posts anywhere.
