You know who I'd like to see back? Two. Yes, I know Patrick Troughton's dead, but his son is a dead ringer for him both visually and vocally. He's already playing him in audio dramas, just slap a black wig on him and away you go.
why is that every rose fan/rper is crazy? every rose fan i have ever met self inserts on her and reduces her to this perfect piece in their doctor/rose ship.
the fans? maybe. but the actual show doesn't encourage it. his relation to clara isn't much unlike his relation to amy honestly. definitely won't bridge on the same levels of annoyance that ten/rose brought.
Problem is that at this point, you just KNOW that any black or female Doctor would be nothing more than a gimmick to attract more viewers. Which is cheap and I'd rather not see black people or women exploited for viewership, thanks.
A woman Doctor will never happen, because lady Gallifreyans have a different regenerative process (...except for River, apparently?), suggesting some sort of fundamental biological difference that can't be overcome. The best they could do there is switch the focus from the Doctor to another character. Or bring back what's-her-name.
Oh please, that regeneration scene was completely a joke. Also if you listen to the audios, they give her a reason for regenerating beyond 'I felt like it'.
I saw one episode of this the other day and the effects are so bad, it's distracting. Maybe it's supposed to have some campy charm and I'm missing the point?
If it was 70s Who, then the had about as much of a budget as the original Star Trek. They couldn't afford better effects (which is why you get a cardboard army of Daleks and monsters made from sleeping bags and bubble wrap)
if it was modern Who, then idk, it might be something about the overuse of computers and cgi that modern Who tends to have.
