okay, seriously, who really gives a fuck if they're in it for the shipping (which they've been pretty transparent about for a long while, if not from the start). both players, but especially york's, are really good about tagging out, especially outside of their canon; york has been actively involved in plots at both outsiders and singularity, and at outsiders she's got a ton of CR all over the place. to be honest it seems like your only complaint is the shipping. her york is one of the best i've seen (and there are plenty) and i don't really care for genderbends but she makes york interesting and dynamic to play off of. i'm honestly curious what you think her other characters that you liked had that york was lacking?
i don't give a fuck what people ship personally but maybe they could've just developed the ship in game, or rather developed it at all rather than creating an entire au based around "yep our characters were boyfriend/girlfriend it happened".

Also you seem to think York's AU was created just for the app, but I'm pretty sure it's something they have been writing for a while now and that Madi decided to bring York into the game after the AU was pretty well established. If you've paid any attention at all to their logs, you will see that they've been building it up pretty slowly and they've put a lot of thought into it. And like other people said, it's not like it prevents York from having other CR, so who cares? About the only way it affects York's CR is that it mean that she is closed to shipping/romance with other characters, which goes for plenty of other characters anyway. So seriously, it sounds like you are either just jumping on the hate train without really know what is going on, or you have got a serious grudgeboner there.
Hi, anon! I'm just going to jump in here to clear some things up, but this is addressed to the thread itself, I guess.
Like the other anon said, this is something we've been developing since last May, and we had been writing the AU for some time before Madi apped York in. As of now, Wash and York aren't even in a ship - they're just close friends and roommates. We've been pretty transparent that it's heading in that direction, but even after a year it's not actually there yet.
We both have open HMDs (I think both have anon on/ip off, but if not just let us know) - mine is here, and Madi's is here. We'd be happy to discuss any concerns you have about our playing and/or characterization there. Thanks!
