It's definitely not just you, I'm so lost. I just joined in the last round and I'm 100% certain I'm dropping, I'm just not sure when yet. Within a week or two. This game is completely chaotic and WAY too fast, I just can't keep up. Sorry Box. Maybe I'll come back later when things aren't so hectic :( It's not you it's me etc. (Maybe it's a little bit you.)
I was excited for the premise, but I know I won't be able to keep up in the long run no matter how much it slows down (which probably will not be any lower than it currently is.)
yeah, it's hectic, but what else would you expect when a game gets so much interest within the first month of its opening? there is literally no other way to handle a brand new game with an exploding playerbase. imo, the mods did a golden deed that has gone unrecognized in allowing each person to only app/reserve one character. (it might have been even more effective to only allow one character for the first entire month, but you can only keep an explosion down so much when it's determined to detonate.)
it's rocky, and people are flying around in a state of confused excitement, but i'm pretty confident that it will get better. the mods seem determined and enthusiastic (for now, at least), and there are enough players that while many will drop, enough won't, and will stay around to help settle it into a rhythm.
if you want to be one of the ones sticking around, my advice is to grab 2-5 dependable characters/players, get CR, and ride out the wave. that's what i'm doing, and so far i've really enjoyed myself, without getting involved in too large a scale.
i've been doing that, and while i'm enjoying the handful of CR i've got, i feel like i'm not part of the overlying community of the game. i feel like i'm just playing in a somewhat glorified musebox with a few intertwining PSLs.
I think it's mostly that the game grew too big too fast. There was HUGE interest from the very start, and a lot of those people went on to excitedly app in second and third characters right away. It'd be impossible to unite that many people with that many ideas, especially when the mods have been dealing with severe personal issues and computer downtime.
I'd recommend people give the game time to grow out of its awkward first stages, tag out, and reach out to others for plot. If you gotta drop you gotta drop, but I think we have a pretty good thing going here.

yes there is, it's called ooc plotting and people taking turns running plots and working together instead of everyone trying to do their own thing at the same time. as it is, it feels totally fragmented both ooc and ic and it's not a very welcoming atmosphere.
excitement is great and all, but not everyone needs to be in the spotlight right off the bat. there needs to be less posting and more tagging around.
