the doctor at amat is NOT an amy/eleven shipper. she firmly ships doctor/river since that's his wife and amy's his mother-in-law. kimmie never got over it and pushed it forever. made the doctor's mun really uncomfortable.
yeah i kind of got the idea that kimmie was pushing that ship real hard. i've been side eying her amy since she first apped with zero memories of rory. she basically gave herself a guilt free loop hole to ignore canon and fuck the doctor.
plus i've been reading her last log with the eleventh doctor and it basically reads like kimmie being completely desperate for doctor cock and the doctor being all NOPE. it's hilarious!
i read that out of curiosity and all i could think of was "awkward" rather than hilarious.
why would the doctormun agree to do a "sexy times" log if they're unfomfortable with that pairing and would make the doctor go to OOC lengths to avoid it? the IC/OOC bleed was ridiculously blatent. not to whiteknight kimmie, because i agree she's also OOC, but wow.
from what i heard, the doctor didn't agree to a "sexy times" log but one where the doctor and amy talked about her problem. the mun didn't agree to amy and the doctor and i'd seen plurks where kimmie and sara talked about it. kimmie knew better.
i don't see the doctor as being ooc in that since why would he have sex with his mother in law?
I thought the eleventh doctor was being pretty IC there. It read more like that amy was giving him an ultimatum that he couldn't entirely say no to. Let his mother-in-law die or sleep with her, which I read as Kimmie's last ditch attempt to sex up the Doctor. Either decision he made would have been bad.
Okay Kimmie is terrible I think we can all agree, but isn't the whole point of joining a forced sex game to give your character the excuse to sleep with people that they wouldn't otherwise? People will die in Amat if they don't have sex, it doesn't have to be something they'd do in canon. It doesn't have to be your favorite ship and nothing but forever. There are plenty of ways to work out a reason why two people would have sex, especially if they already know, trust and like each other.
If the only reason was "but mother-in-law!" Then that seems like a silly reason to stonewall the smut CR when the game literally hands you a million reasons to have your character to get over it.
the whole 'mother-in-law' business would be excusable if River Song wasn't already in the game. That's what makes for some awkward CR. Try explaining to your wife that you slept with her mother, even if it was to save her life. It's just downright creepy to me, but I guess I can see where some people would get off on it.
Awkward CR is some of the best you can get in my opinion. However, it sounds like the situation was Kimmie pushing a ship on someone who didn't want anything to do with it.
My issue with the person who plays the doctor is that their dislike of the ship overrode how the doctor would act ICly.
1. The moment the mun saw "sexy times" in the warning they should have talked OOCly with Kimmie and said no, this isn't happening. And if Kimmie insisted they should have never tagged the thread or contacted the mods.
2. Even if the doctor did have a hangup about the whole motherinlaw thing (which I doubt he canonly would if it meant saving his best friend's life) he should have helped her find someone else to do the job or called River up to ask her about it.
The doctor mun instead stonewalled due to OOC discomfort and their characterization suffered for it.
My guess is that the Doctor-mun agreed to it, and then River's player (who is notorious OOC) flipped a tit about it and bitched at the Doctor-mun until they sabotaged the scene. That whole situation has Cockhop Territory Wars written all over it.
Right, because when I think of people in a really traditional marriage that really go out of their way to exemplify standard family roles, of course the first people I think of are River Song and The Doctor. No free-wheeling open minded attitudes on those two!
Except that as long as there is a brothel option, which there is, the people will die if they don't have sex is a piss poor excuse to try to force sex CR on anyone who doesn't want it.
If the character refuses to go to a brothel to save their own life and instead tries to manipulate another character into doing it, that's a personal problem, not the other character's duty to take one for the troops.
