or, you know, people could just want to give their friends a chance to deplurk them without anyone being butthurt. a lot of people feel like they can't unfriend even after they leave a game because of the epic levels of wah wah it causes. so they move and they probably do add their close friends/cr, but they leave that up so anyone who actually wants to add them and is still interested in being on their plurk can do so.
theoretically that's a good idea. i've seen it go peacefully like that.
i've also seen it go horribly where the person in question kept incessantly bumping HEY GUYS UH I'M MOVING IDK IF YOU SAW THIS. REPLURKING. LAST REPLURK. NO THIS IS THE LAST REPLURK. GUYS. GUYS I'M MOVING. GUYS.
it was my "yeah it's time to just let this one go already, rarely talk anymore and if we do it usually ends badly" and i took the opportunity that they gave. but it was the most depressing thing like watching a sick animal that needed to get taken to the back of the barn to be shot and no one would fucking do it
why didn't you just unfollow the minute you decided not to go to their new plurk?
or if they did it through private plurks so that unfollowing is ineffective, just unfriend them. you might as well at that point and you wouldn't have to see their tittybaby meltdowns on their old plurk over being unfriended.
trainwreck syndrome. i had them unfollowed but found out through a private plurk. but even with them unfollowed i had trainwreck syndrome bad enough to actually go back and check to see just how many public plurks they made about leaving. it was a lot. i won't deny getting out my popcorn at all, we all do it. my point is that sometimes it's not as amicable as your typical plurk amnesty thing, even if they say it is.
in all fairness though i've seen it go peacefully and wanklessly more often than not.
