If you're using my character to write out cheating, I am going to take my own part in how it's resolved. Which, hell, depending on how the pairing was supposed to be in the first place and what I want to put my character through, I might have been perfectly happy to keep my character in the pairing regardless of the cheating! But honestly, to someone who pulls this without warning, I'm probably just going to have my character become unhappy with the relationship themselves and walk out. Maybe yours was cheating because the flame was fading anyway, there we go.
If someone playing a pairing with me wants to do another ship, I'm perfectly open to poly and would discuss my character being cool with the fact that their partner wants to see someone else too. Or we could do an amicable breakup (well, amicable OOCly at least). Don't just launch a cheating plot on me and expect I'm ok with my character being a prop for it.
