Ngl, I'm not a fan of RNG for apps. I think it should be first come, first serve. I feel like there's too much room for potential mod favoritism with RNG (mods could fudge the results to benefit their friends and not tell have to tell anyone), and if you're going to go that route, you might as well just have mods pick the the best of the best apps. Which also has room for subjectivity/mod favoritism but at least then you'd know the mods were picking the apps.
I still think first come, first serve is the best option though. Mandatory tdm is intriguing but I don't know how it would work in practice.
lmao trying to play the 'i was sexually assaulted as a child, so it's okay for me to trivialize it and potentially trigger others because i've been through so much waaaahhh' card.
because that makes it all ok.
sry no, past trauma doesn't excuse current shitty behaviour.
Re: ITT: THE STUPIDEST THING YOU'VE EVER SAID TO SOMEONE
oh my god I put my foot in my mouth constantly it's the worst
when I was a preteen I told my mom 'don't touch me' in public because I saw my friend tell her mom that and they laughed about it... my mom did not find it amusing
more recently I was volunteering as a ticket taker and an asian woman came like three hours early to get her ticket, so I recommended some places where she could go get coffee or something to wait since the venue wasn't open yet
she came back later and I unthinkingly asked her for her ticket again and she got pissed and said 'yeah because we all look alike huh'
here was the girly one but that is the reason why most people don't bother with wayswithwords here. the place is very unwelcoming to people outside of the whole nyc clique there, so if you're not some samefaced model superhero don't expect to get tags.
Do people actually do this? I know I'm having fun giving everyone anon dares and often directing them towards certain characters without ever posting to the meme myself with any of mine.
there's no question that on the scale of who deserves pity mary would be near the angela scale of blameless and james would be on the MURDERED HIS WIFE scale of fucked upness. i'm not denying that at all, but even mary thinks that she fucked things up between them and says so in her letter. sure there are people dying of terminal cancer who lash out at their loved ones. there are also people dying of terminal cancer who don't verbally abuse their spouse every time they visit and allow them to support them. as abuse goes it's pretty mild and james being the unreliable narrator that he is i'm not even sure how long it had been occurring but apparently it's enough to severely damage their relationship and cause him to snap.
obviously you shouldn't kill your wife just for yelling at you and he's a damn murdering scumbag for doing so but mary shouldn't have pushed him away and let him be a supportive husband like he wanted. it's a minor fuckup but still a fuckup that she herself realized in her letter, sadly after james commits the obviously more massive fuckup of killing her.
