i'm not a fan of adrien. i know it's hard to judge ocs but comparing his app to how he's been played in game, his characterization and development doesn't make sense. he's supposed to be suspicious and bitter, but he's constantly going out of his way to help random characters? and i don't get how his feelings for mothership started.

also boring to tag with imo, he's a case of an "asshole character" that is only an asshole when it suits the player.

but you know, ymmv.

imo he goes out of his way to support others because that's what he's expected to do as a unit lead. blue team is all about supporting the crew too. adrien has been in the game since day one and the difference from how he was then and how he is now is noticeable thanks to a year's worth of game development.

he has been criticized by multiple characters about his manner, to be fair. he's still suspicious and rough around the edges, but being put into a lead and mentor position means that he has to break out of his often antisocial tendencies. ymmv for sure, but i find it an interesting development.

he protects and helps people almost ~subconsciously~ now, and takes on a lot of responsibility and guilt if they're hurt... for characters he doesn't even know. he also works like a dog to make sure others are okay. it's like back-handed kindness. and as below anon mentioned, he's been doing this since ajna.

i know his mun's been working on developing him into a better person, but it turned his douche-baggery into frivolous fluff to give him a "hard shell" people have to "break through." (so yes to make him "edgy") at most, characters criticize his harsh wording, but never his actions. as far as i know, i'd love examples to the contrary

as for being a blue team lead, i haven't seen him have to use that to behave better for others, so i don't think it applies.

adrien is flat, boring and "edgy". i agree he's only an asshole when the character needs him to be and that is arbitrary.

what precisely about that is edgy

ok, but one character being the "supreme edgy" doesn't make another character not edgy.

i feel like the point is being missed here that the mun just isn't a very good writer, period. they don't have a good grasp on general flow, their narrative's flat, they were still making constant grammar fuck-ups last i checked and they just don't strike me as anything other than mediocre. not horrible, but i'm definitely not a fan either.

and when you're not a very good writer, you're going to have issues with consistency. the mun very much appears to do whatever they want with him and i'll be real them being personally obsessed with the pb really, really puts me off.

he's not our worst by far but he's definitely not an example of a good oc done even remotely well.

the player is pretty inoffensive on the whole honestly, but their writing is just...not great

never really could sustain a thread with them, and the lack of oc consistency only compounds on that
