yeah, i mean, i've known people that kept getting suckered by the same dude over and over again, which frustrates me to no end because it's the same guy. did you think he'd change?
at least here, it's different people, and it's not hard to imagine someone thinking "maybe these people are different".
let me tell you about my bff and her perpetual bad life choices in men. particularly the same man. granted abusive relationships aren't anything the same as having bad taste in friends, but the shock and surprise that some people are just gullible by nature that i see here because 'no, no, she's doing it on purpose' is more shocking to me than someone just being that dumb.
