Same. Pity there are so many dysfunctional tools in RP.

Someone I considered a close friend did that; she yelled and yelled about wanting to thread with someone, so I slapped some icons on an idle account and posted to the toplevel, and she completely and utterly blanked me. Stung like fuck and reminded me why I quit rp.

it's because ppl who say they want to thread already have someone in mind that they want to thread with and rather than message them directly, they make an announcement on plurk hoping those they're thinking of will come scrambling to interact with them

it's all because it's a public forum, really. it looks better if the people they want to thread with come to them first rather than pinging them specifically

anyone else is just collateral damage

also, it might not have helped your case that you "slapped some icons on an idle account," either. it sounds like you really didn't give a crap and weren't expecting them to reply, anyway, then when they confirmed your assumptions, you got asshurt. so, yeah, maybe if you put forth more of an interest they would have replied to you
