When anons start critiquing fiction, they're usually critiquing casual popcorn schlock designed for lowest common denominator audiences and wondering why things aren't more highbrow and/or enlightened.
For a film that takes the idea of a "fridging" and turn it upside-down, I recommend looking to Germany (also a "Western" country!) and Lola Rennt.
not spousal revenge, but confessions by kanae minato is a novel about a single mother carrying out vengeance for her daughter. it has a film adaptation as well.
also not spousal revenge, but one of the main characters of 1Q84 by haruki murakami is a woman who kills domestic abusers partly out of vengeance for her best friend who died in a domestic abuse incident.
When you're leaving the confines of North America, the concept of "nonwhite" becomes a little stickier, I think. But I think you're mostly just asking to see materials from cultures other than "standard" American films. Otherwise, I'd have to skip over everything European, as if everything from England to Yugoslavia all fit into the same tired mold you're expecting.
Off the top of my head (and I'm really not a film buff so the top of my head doesn't contain all that much), the big avenging spouse film is a French movie from the 60s, The Bride Wore Black. It's pretty noir, and I'm not entirely sure it's an easy sit if you're not stuck in a film class, but it fits the general "avenging woman" criteria. Does she still count as a spouse when her husband gets offed at the altar? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbb7LBLJvoc
Since you asked for something non-western, the closest thing I can think of comes with extra caveats because I don't remember enough specifics. Lady Vengeance is a Korean film. I think it involves an avenging mother (was her husband killed too? I'm fuzzy) who was framed by the murder of her family. Or I've got it entirely wrong and she was framed for some random kid. Grains of salt all over this summary you might want to check with Google for a better one. It's the same director as Oldboy, to give you an idea of what to expect violence-wise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzXbV9a5GA4
