people here think they're slick masking their racism by saying that they "just don't like animanga because the archetypes are a little too in-your-face" but yeah. basically what they're trying to say is that only western media has characters deep enough for them. those whacky japanese just don't write complex characters. because guess what most people i know who don't like animanga play from japanese video games (a lot of which are semi-anime in style like final fantasy, full anime style like tales of, or take place in japan). maybe just maybe some people think the politics of japan are disgusting, especially regarding women but it makes you racist and xenophobic because that's just how they are!!! maybe just maybe people don't like the most common art style in this era and don't feel like digging around.

maybe i can like whatever the fuck i like and i think most la players have just as shitty taste but for different reasons. i don't even play from la but i don't fucking like anime, i actually really like japan despite its issues, and honestly most people who are former anime fans are the same.

also the entry level anime lists are bullshit. how many people actually rp from things like bebop? i think it's mostly shit, but i'd be interested in most of the characters if they were played well. how about things like paprika? the older gundams? claymore and berserk pop up but don't tell me any of those players aren't the same edgy equivalent of the shittiest la and video games.

i don't have to like anime to rp with most of them just like i don't expect you to sit down and play my vidyas but whyyyy won't you or shove some obscure la shit in your face and go but whyyyy don't you rp from it! how about if bbc, fad series/movies didn't count what fucking la do mostly anime rpers play from? pretty much none.

sorry but i've watched a ton of anime and women are always treated poorly or sexy but they're smart and tragic tho!! i never once said games or live action in particular aren't shitty toward women but i'll take one brand of shitty over others. i'd rather see an adult woman be objectified over a 14 year old pop idol. sorry it struck a chord but if you have some examples of anime that aren't black widow equivalent hardcore, exclusively existing to be an object of lust, or moe kawaii desu that also aren't magical girl anime and focus on their relationships and not how much they want on some dude's dick then i'm in.

i have more options in games and television. maybe there are good anime that don't fit a certain mold but it has its cliches and what sells the same way live action currently has it's dull as dirt action shit with samey looking white guys. feel free to point out some good anime people actually play from not the usual THIS IS GOOD ANIME because even if you want to argue whether they're good or not or could be interesting in rp, no one really rps from those series.
