she's not that old. she just looks that old because of how grey she is. she had a what, 10/12 year old? that she probably had young? i'm guessing she's early to mid forties.
the wiki is maintained by fans and is notoriously inaccurate especially with the intended ages of characters (word of god has contradicted several of them). but in carol's case i'd personally say that's a fair guess and i don't think the creator or writers have given her a specified age yet.
Her exact age hasn't been stated in the tv series and that's how old her actress is. But you may be right and she's intended to be younger. Like I said it was nitpicking anyway, but either way she is likely within the menopause range. (Between 45-55 is considered average.)
