because of the toxicity of online culture, i'm not entirely sure we would be "healthy" at any number anymore
then shut the fuck up about is dying, already, christ. if we'd be "unhealthy" at twice or three times the number we have now, then what is even the point of carrying on about 1200-1500 being so small? get the fuck over it and just work to make what we have better and stop dreaming about halycon days of a large playerbase because, like I said, it's never going to fucking happen again.
not that i'm going to put in the effort to do it, but it would be relatively simple to get in a huge pile of fresh blood. just start a webcomic or podcast or vlog about some engaging and easy-to-like characters engaging in dwrp. ex: smart, pretty, nerdy english major undergrad who's a big fan of superhero movies and who kind of likes fic but thinks it's kind of lonely just writing alone.

chapter 3: the first crit
chapter 4: the first wank
chapter 5: my new friend protected me!
chapter 6: turns out the bullies were just jealous all this time
