i mean, carrie fisher does refer to herself/kinda brand herself that way. she's very much about "WOW AM I A GIANT DISASTER HAHAHAHA" these days so i don't think it's douchey to run with that and talk about that image of her.

Any other time, I'd say that was true, but it seems really disrespectful and tone-deaf given the immediate circumstances. There's kind of a difference between enjoying and relating to someone's self-deprecatory humor, and saying "omg they're such a fuckup lol, #pray4carrie" when that person is in the hospital and potentially dying.

It's the sort of thing that I'd probably overlook coming from most people but given how disrespectful and tone-deaf Zack is towards just about everybody, it just feels like another check on the list.

I agree that Carrie Fisher kind of embraces that reputation, but there's a time and place to refrain from the trash garbage baby dialogue.

however, right after the woman nearly died is NOT the time to start laughing at her foibles, or referring to herself as a fuckup.

not everyone is familiar with her (including myself) or how she talks about herself so it seems like a really fucked up thing to say, honestly.

and it wouldn't be the first time that i saw somebody like zack saying "omg, this person who has HEALTHPROBLEM like me is such a fuckup (like me), lmaooooo"

and like the other anons said, she might be potentially dying, it's pretty fucking poor taste.

using humor as a coping mechanism while being open about your mental health struggles to attempt to encourage others to take care of themselves if they have similar issues isn't really the same thing as actually being a fuckup. she can joke that she's a fuckup because she's made some mistakes in her life, but there's a difference between that joke and actually thinking she's a fuckup. yes, she's made some serious mistakes in her life, but she's actually a pretty successful person who has overcome a lot of adversity despite these mistakes. I don't think Zack or anyone else who would say that about her in this way actually understands how hard she's worked to get where she is now. just because she's kind of odd and open about the mistakes she's made in her life doesn't mean she's a real fuckup.
