I think the majority of memes would do better on average if they were moved to once a month. TFLN is an exception and the recent memes like the mistletoe meme exploded most likely due to their infrequency.

and before someone comes along to fatly interject with "but most of those are empty top levels!", name a meme that gets hundreds of comments that isn't mostly empty top levels that isn't tfln, aka the meme where more than half the people just grab quotes at random that don't even make sense for their characters from the front page of a site of shit that never happened.

there are two non-tfln memes with over a thousand comments on the front page alone right now. granted, one is another damn texting meme, but it happens. quite a few more are in the 800+ range.
