I definitely know people in marriages where one half, usually the man in a heterosexual marriage, will actively discourage or try to keep the other half from getting a job but then will use the money as a way to control them. I played Moro for ages and ages and I didn't have to worry about the "near and dear" aspect of it - the biggest problem I had was that everyone wanted to be Moro's best friend which was hilariously weird.
