when players make every excuse in the world for why their oh so special characters won't be affected by your character's powers. i swear i could play friggin superman and there would still be people trying to say their everyman is immune to heat vision because their hangnail gives them heat resistant powers. i understand everyone wants to play in the sandbox equally, and no one wants to be outshined, but once in a while, it would be nice to be met halfway so i could play around with my characters powers too.

you already have three characters that barely make ac, you never tag more than 3 times in a row per thread with anybody except your castmates and you constantly talk about how you never have time to rp

when you play a character with pretty blatant canon flaws and have to deal with two types of people:

a) players who want you to bend your character to be more amicable so positive cr can flourish quicker

b) players who criticize you for being ooc because you try to appease a)

i would have no problem playing my character as abrasive, aloof or an asshole as depicted in canon if other people weren't so sensitive about it but here we are

as someone who played an asshole for years and gave up because of the b) crowd? i feel this so, so much. imo it's just not worth it because you will NEVER win - either you're playing X as too much of an asshole (despite this being their defining canon trait) and alienating/offending people, or you're playing them too nice and OMG SO OOC. i tried so hard to please everyone and just gave up. i'll never play villains/antagonists again because of this.

people responding to network posts with audio or video and giving you nothing but the words their character is saying. i don't need paragraphs of introspection, but would it kill you to give me like a sentence or two to expand on what their tone is like or what kind of face they're making or where they seem to be responding from or something?

I'm sorry it's worked out this way but, it has. My character doesn't like or trust yours. You seem fine with playing that out but now you've approached me saying you're are uncomfortable with my character disliking yours, despite the fact that we're all established and agreed she has her facts wrong and is stubborn as fuck, and your character doesn't want to refute what she thinks cos he's got his secrets and all that.

I know I'm playing a bitch and you knew I'm playing a bitch, so why are you upset that my character is being a bitch?

Someone doesn't like my character, and it feels like every IC interaction with one of their characters is an excuse to dump on mine ICly.

I wouldn't care if this felt like IC beef, but this feels like OOC/IC bleed and I'm uncomfortable. I don't know how to approach it because this player is one of those 'the slightest hint of crit will send me into a crying anxious mess' types.

This is a pet peeve of mine but

I really hate it when players have their Japanese/Eastern characters use Western memes in-game. And I'm not talking about the ones that do make it to the east, but obscure shit. As well as referencing Western celebrities only... Your character comes off as a teenage twitter user in the USA rather than a Japanese high school student. They've never used memes in the canon.

there's a player in my game who i'm starting to feel is using people. it might be ic for the character, i'm entirely canon blind so idk, but it really comes off like the player is just twisting situations to get what they want out of them for their character.

example would be: say Character A gets a shiny new motorcycle. this player gets their character close to Character A, earns their trust, gets close ic/ooc etc. Character A gives the character their shiny new motorcycle for some reason and within a few weeks the character is no longer interested in Character A. they disappear from plotting with them on plurk and move on to Character B, move in with Character B, something splits them up but not before this character gets Character B to move out and leave the house with them. isolated incident, nbd. pattern? just plain weird.

i'm seeing this from the sidelines and don't play with this player at all, might just be a coincidence but the way their character always comes out on top in these situations consistently is almost uncomfortable to watch. everything reads less like uncanny coincidence and more like the player is somehow manipulating the situation to their benefit. just feels bad if people are being taken advantage of and not signing up for this while this player runs off to the next new shiny thing they want from someone else.

everyone in the ooc plotting post: IC my character is doing X, OOC I've got too many threads y'all! sorry won't be tagging/will only tag a couple of people (I already made plans with/are close CR/castmates, too bad if you wanted new CR)


please, if you didn't leave room for this just have your character stay the fuck home both ooc and ic
