they're already incapable of balancing characters in their normal films infinity war is going to be a clusterfuck

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
a clusterfuck where literally everyone loses, because if you thought the huge mcu muse explosion after avengers was bad? hah. hah. hah. it's literally going to be mcus for miles and miles and miles in dwrp, and even as a huge fan i'm NOT looking forward to it. it's honestly just too much at this point.

i'm not looking forward to all the steves updating to having that stupid beard of sadness

Re: MCU

Also not looking forward to the fits people throw when their precious characters who have flat cardboard as their personalities get killed off and complaining about how really developed and nuanced they were guys!! Looking at every single person who has ever played MCU Hawkeye.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Marvel/Disney is pretty much advertising that Hawkeye is a dead character walking, what with them barely promoting him anymore.

Re: MCU

there are so many stories about jeremy renner being an asshole, even to fans who paid to see him at conventions. I think marvel might be looking to just unload his ass. they have so many actors who want to be there and are encouraging towards fans. they just don't need him. there was even an actor roundtable I watched maybe two years back that included slj and ruffalo and they talked about how they were both replaceable, as were all the actors in the mcu. if they're replaceable, imagine how replaceable renner is.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-06 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
They're going ronin with him and are trying to keep it locked down.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-11 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
has there been any proof of this or are people just really convinced of it? asking because I hate jrenner and want them to just be done with him, not give him more interesting shit to do. I haven't seen anything but speculation about doing the ronin thing, which made more sense in the comics than it would in mcu, anyway.

literally no character is interesting

none of them

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
i like the way they're taking thor with ragnarok (esp him not taking loki's backstabby bullshit anymore, calling him boring, and straight up stranding him on a hostile planet) but yeah, most of mcu isn't as ~groundbreaking~ as people make it out to be

Re: MCU

but they're malleable pretty boys that are perfect for my yaois.

isn't that enough for you??????

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-05 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
you bring up the yaois but the women aren't interesting either

i meant it when i said everyone

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-05 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
i bring up the yaois because everyone knows most of fandom doesn't care about goopy vaginas.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
trying to pander to the tumblr demographic was only ever going to end one way. try to make a major blockbuster with a poc lead, they complain about some rumor about a scrapped f/f relationship. try to give natalia even more of a major role, they complain because she only bangs the white guys.

you can't fucking win with them. they need to stop trying.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
black panther is printing so much money that everyone in the mcu can swim in it like scrooge mcduck. a few people on tumblr and twitter getting their panties in a bunch over it is not going to change how wildly successful it is

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-05 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
of course not. at the end of the day, the dollar sign will speak louder than the hashtag every single time without fail. my point was that you can't please the unpleasable, even with a massive commercial success featuring an almost all poc main cast. they should just stop trying.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-05 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
and my point was that if the movie was simply pandering to the ess jay dubyas then it wouldn't have been such a huge hit. not every piece of media that puts minority or female characters at the front and center is pandering

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-05 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
DA

They're not trying to or pandering to the tumblr demographic at all. And they should stop trying because of idiots on tumblr who no effect on them? What?

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-05 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
Reducing everyone who cares about minority representation to "the tumblr demographic" is like assuming wankgate is a hivemind.

mcu has a lot more legitimate flaws than this. like, if you genuinely believe marvel is sitting down at their computers researching tumblr blog posts made by 15 year old demisexual bi-ace black autistic children, then step around for half a second and breathe some fresh air, please.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Ragnarok was a lazy ripoff of Planet Hulk, it's not nearly as original or groundbreaking as the fandom claims, also lel BUTTS AND BUTTSECKS is the pinnacle of humor now.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
anon did you know sometimes comics are adapted?

it’s clealry a mash up of the ragnarok storyline from the comics and planet hulk.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Planet Hulk... without Hulk as the main character or allowed for any of the story or growth that popularized his character through Pak's Run.

Sounds like a MCU idea if I ever heard one.

Re: MCU

(Anonymous) 2018-04-04 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
the movies are never going to be like the comics. they just can't be. but i'd rather have a decent movie that has both hulk and thor in it since they avoided the shit show of civil war than to have nothing at all. i liked the new thor. it was fun. we've been missing that in mcu movies lately. they're cramming it all in together to try to get as much storyline together before the end of the phase. i'm enjoying it.
