define nag. because i generally let people tag at their own pace, but if i'm in a game with someone during a time sensitive thing, i might give them a poke after a few days/week to see if they're going to get around to it. if you're going to shove my thread down to the bottom because of that, then you shouldn't be playing in time sensitive shit.
or if you haven't tagged in a month and i ask about it and you decide to do the same, then fuck you too. sounds less like you even have a desire to tag and more like you just collect threads to feel popular. 'look at all my ongoing threads'. do your tags, janice.
"nag" usually refers to people who annoy the piss out of you because they want you to tag now now now wow you have all this free time why aren't you TAGGING ME?
you know, the generally agreed upon definition of nagging
you say usual like your standard is everyone's. i've seen people call it nagging just to be reminded once. hdu remind them they haven't done their tags.
a one time reminder can be nagging if you're obnoxious enough about it. an actual thing that happened to me once was someone coming into a plurk i made about how a big work deadline coincided with an important exam to remind me of that tag in my inbox. idk janet, maybe i'm prioritising doing the thing that pays my internet bill to begin with.
One time I had a thread where the other player didn't tag me back for almost a week. The day they happened to tag me was the day I spent with my grandmother in the hospital. I plurked that I was home and was talking about what happened with my grandma and they came in asking if I was going to get to that tag that's been sitting there for around 12 hours. Sorry I can't be johnny on the spot when you want to tag, Brenda.
i didn't tag for more than a week when i unexpectedly lost my job and was kind of freaking out about it. i made a couple of plurks about it and one of my castmates came into one of the plurks to ask me if i'd seen their tag. yes, i saw it, you fucker. no, i am not tagging you back right now, i am busy trying to find a new job.
so much this. it's also never done by players who are fun to tag to begin with, and they're usually people with no life beyond rp to boot. i'm glad you live in your parents' basement with little to no contact to the real world, but some of us actually have things going on besides rping.
ITT: People afraid they'll get outed for weeks old tags rotting in their inbox
it's called roleplaying. not roleteasingtheideaoftags. do your tags and stop getting so inflamed that people have the audacity to expect you to tag them in a timely manner. no, once every two weeks is not timely. yes, if you're in a game, that's a shitty thing to do.
Re: ITT: People afraid they'll get outed for weeks old tags rotting in their inbox
if you politely remind people who owe you time-sensitive game tags, this thread is not about you.
if you have waited for weeks on a psl tag while the other player is clearly rping just fine elsewhere, and you ask them about it, this thread is not about you.
if you're awkwardly poking someone if it's been less than two days over a largely inconsequential tag, or if you ignored the player letting you know that it might be a couple of days before they can get back to tags, then congratulations: you no longer need to move the goalposts around, this thread is about you, and you need to stop it and touch grass.
That's fine. But the tag thing is a two-way street, so don't be surprised when I drop your ass and go RP with someone else who actually tags me back more than once a week.
