not all of the other examples show up every week either. but it shows up almost every week. same with most of the ones that annoy people. this is an annoyed at meme thread, not an 'every week' thread. the give you a baby meme is as annoying to me as the four different flavors of married/arranged marriage/forced marriage memes.
most, if not all of the memes mentioned here are showing up weekly/bi-weekly. which honestly wouldn't be a problem if they were popular. but the fact that they barely break 10-20 comments each time and they keep coming up week after week is what makes them annoying. give people time to miss them. i wouldn't care so much about any of them if it wasn't the 16th time this year i'd seen x meme go up with barely a reply. that's what makes it feel forced. not that it gets posted, but that it's consistently ignored and keeps getting posted. like, contain your thirst.
fair enough. i think some memes in particular just sort of drew a lot of shitty attention to them because of the posters or the content. like the courtly love or the tlh stable breeding one.
