i'll never get people who need to personally find a character fuckable before they will entertain the idea of writing smut

personally, writing the mechanics out of a fight is boring and tedious. sometimes i like using it as an excuse to show off a character's powers if they'd been keeping them secret or it's going to segue into another thread where the characters talk about it post-fight, but the "they punch" "they dodge, they kick" "they take the hit, they punch again" "they miss, they kick again" is not my bag. same reason why i find insert tab a into slot b style smut writing with no character personality or stakes or investment generally boring and mechanical and tedious.

fight threads that gloss over the fighting mechanical parts and focus more on the emotions of it, that can be good shit...but usually that requires some cr built up first to make it mean something. a random one-off fight meme that doesn't go anywhere isn't as satisfying to me.

i used to be in the fnaf fandom (tbh i still write fanfiction for it) and. yeah. it’s all 12-yr-olds or emotionally unstable college students. i realize the hypocrisy, and am not denying being an emotionally unstable college student but god damn everyone who rps for it is psycho

i don't have to find them fuckable but i do have to be able to reasonably conclude that the character i'm playing would find them fuckable

Agreed. Fanart and shit has made L more conveniently attractive and fandom has also fucked other shit up like there are literally ppl who don't know Matt isn't a redhead, etc. I mean. These people have also put Mello in mafia suits and shit when he just has an old school janky dressing style and I am a Mello fan and can get down with that but tldr it is what it is
