This is probably an unpopular opinion but I've always thought a meme with some sort of loose continuity would be nice. Something like the dressing rooms of old. You have a general world set up that is up each month in the same universe, there's no obligation to tag but you can check in once in a while and tag as though you're just continuing another day there.

I considered doing this before but it felt like it was hard to integrate in bs culture, but I guess I can always just make a comm and link a new post monthly and see where that goes.

cool, i speak japanese too, and there are no random japanese words being thrown around. they're all very specific words being used for very specific things. like, it's literally only used for the names of specific yokai (which are untranslatable) and the names of clans (which would obviously be japanese names).

I don’t think it’s so much an unpopular opinion so much as I do think it’d be impossible to actually implement. It sounds nice in theory though.

Speaking Japanese isn’t the same as being Japanese, though, so I wonder what ayrt is thinking about.

Maybe how the yakuza is handled? It’s pretty taboo to talk about in Japan but it’s also a popular genre that isn’t taken seriously.

nah, this is just the next generation of the argument about using honorifics. people will still use -san -chan -kun in rp and other people are still upset about it.

Because... the connotation is the same? Grim reaper can imply things that aren't "mythical harbinger of death" it can also be used for just a hitman type of character. Shinigami isn't a static term either. It can be used for both.
