as if some of those people are not, themselves, massive wankers who've done way shittier things than not liking a character

no that's absolutely true. but the way fire emblem wank almost always dissolves into that (hating one of the main 3 hos) is a precedent you can't ignore.

no disagreement there, but ime it's never just not liking a character. people who have really strong feelings about any of the 3 hos can never just stay in their lane, they have to go out of their way to bully and wank on anybody who doesn't feel the same way

for sure. I'm not sure why people can't get along (this coming from someone who ships all three hos together in different fashions so I suppose I don't count much) but it's the lowest quality ammunition for their fighting to get crotchety over shipping or even just not liking a character someone else does. So they fuel all of it into petty little fights that cause wankslosions eventually.

i absolutely love fe3h but joining a cast was THE WORST decision i ever made, and that's including having played in multiple kingdom hearts casts before

in hindsight i think its just the structure of the game. dwrpers tend to get overinvested in their favs and when you combine that with a faction game where everyone has sympathetic motives for what they're doing it's a recipe for wank

if 3 hopes is a true golden route maybe it'll deflate some of the tension but im not "hopeful" lol

I eventually started applying at games that either had zero close cast mates of mine so I never had to interact with them, or had no cast at all. This was pre A1 so it wasn’t very difficult to avoid people. Eventually I dropped the canon altogether because no one could ever accept they were allowed to add comic canon to their characters….which is exactly what ended up happening in the movies anyway to fill in backstory for a multitude of them. It was so exhausting to try and make interactions more than YOURE THE BIG BAD SO BE THE ENTIRE GAMES BIG BAD

like can I just play internet barbies without having to do a short villain arc and kill off my character in less than a few months? it’s amazing what cast mates want to box you into.

Y’all need to grow up and actually ask someone to fill in the role for drama that you want cuz villains don’t actually care this much about your MC and definitely WOULDN'T in an alternate universe such as a game.

For me it's a tie between this and "how DARE you post event logs in a way I don't like" anon who got caught grudging two months in a row. There's this weird and wanky uptake in people bitching about activity, which could be easily solved by... minding your own damn business.
