This has to be bait lmao. Are we forgetting that G'raha ran an entire society for 100ish years? That he's literally a father? That he spent even longer than that as an Allegan scholar interested in everything he could get his paws on? And before that was raised in Sharlayan to be as inquisitive about the world as he possibly could be? Did one scene in EW where he eats a burger and smiles at you remove every single piece of his characterisation prior to that? What about his life before Crystal Tower with the Brothers? Literally all of these things could give you things to do outside of the WoL but it's okay I didn't play Shadowbringers either I just looked at the pictures on the wiki!

"we" didn't forget those things, but the game makes a much bigger deal about his thing for the WoL than any of what you mentioned. as i said, it's not that anyone shouldn't try it if they want to play him but not interact with WoLs, i'm all for playing what you want according to your preferences and who cares what anyone thinks. he'd just be the weirdest character to do that with, since you'd pretty much have to ignore a big chunk of his characterization.

The implication was that there's no way to play him with out WoL interaction though and I gave examples of how that could be done. You can also mention the WoL all you want in NPC tags without interacting with billions of WoL ocs if you just use the canon default for your NPCs WoL to talk about. My point is that it's doable and using G'raha as an example that it'd be impossible was stupid.

it might not be "impossible" but it's pretty fucking difficult. especially if you join a game with a bunch of WoLs in it as g'raha. you'd be ignoring a huge part of his characterization if you ignore them.

i think you could pretty easily have him only care about "his" WoL but to not even have a passing curiosity about them would definitely be a very weird way to play him.

WoL players really hate every npc player who doesn't want to tag them like jfc are you the person who'd rather ignore someone's permissions again

MMO RPers are honestly the worst of the worst. The shitty WoW crowd just moved onto FFXIV instead, we'll never be free of them.

i have no interest in playing ff14 and it feels like i can't escape it

I don't mind if the FFXIV folks stick to their own canon threads, but they have to insert themselves everywhere else too. The "characters you hate" thread is ~300 comments and over 200 of those are FFXIV-related. They have to hijack EVERYTHING to talk about their stupid game.

I didn't check wg yesterday and there are several new pages to go through today. I'm getting the sense that most of it is going to be people complaining about ffxiv. Did something else happen to generate activity? Who knows. Probably not. It's probably just more of this thread, spiraling off into incoherence forever.
