I can't fathom giving that much of a shit. if someone blocks you because they find you annoying or something, why would you want them to try and pursue something with you

I'm not sure you really get that there isn't necessarily a 'better' here in some cases, so much as personal preferences and clashes in personality. It seems like you might be insecure, I could be wrong, but if that's the case, the thing you should worry about bettering is accepting that not everyone is going to like you, and that is okay. The sooner you allow that to be a thing without letting it effect you so much, the healthier you'll feel and, probably, the more people will like you just as a result of the natural change in attitude that follows. ime listing off the reasons why you don't like someone's personality does not help anything, it just makes both parties feel like shit.

okay but you didn't say "post too much about it", you said liking a thing you don't care about.

plus like others pointed out, there are options for that besides blocking. muting is a function on both plurk, twitter, and (i think) tumblr.
