tbh this surprised me bc trek has always been pretty abrasive, yet the sail mod seems to be beloved? i guess it just goes to show that it really is possible to still find people who will like you so long as you don't fucking lie to them

i think the abrasiveness of the sail mod is the appeal for the players there, imo. people seemed on board with the mod's frustration and blunt response over the wol player trying to sneak her emotional support cat into a game that strictly didn't allow pets.

not that i don't believe you, anon, but i went looking around and couldn't find anything written anywhere about who the mods are but i admit that i might just be looking in the wrong place and missing it.

trek might not have gsai's history but they're someone i personally would want to avoid and until seeing it here i would have had no idea they had anything to do with that game.

I'm not saying this to dimish what Gonsai did because it's very similar to what Gonsai did, but it's pretty funny that Trek is calling them out when Trek themselves is someone with proven wanker behavior who is modding a game that people can end up joining without realizing someone like that is a mod.

Trek has been caught red handed in the past making shit up about innocent players and condoning members of a mod team participating in that and I would not be comfortable in a game they modded any more than I feel comfortable with Gonsai as a mod since it's literally a game modded by one of the Ryslig wankers who would be prebanned elsewhere for being in the pastebin and that's just as bad.

if you don't want to join a game with her that's fine but idk i don't think "participating in a venting plurk for a game she's not even in" is a crime worthy of driving an active mod out of dwrp for

there's no lying about identity or overstepping boundaries here, worst case is a player fills out the easiest app in dwrp an then backs out when they find out the mod is someone they dislike. even if her name isn't plastered all over the game, you can easily find out who the mod is, gsai was actively lying and trying to cover their involvement because they knew no one would join.

i know some people like to act like this megapaste is the worst thing that ever happened here but for 90% of the people involved it's a bog-standard venting plurk that should have been filtered to a smaller group, and weighing in without fact-checking luc's claims isn't great but it's nothing most mods would pre-ban for. the bad part of that megapaste was luc lying his ass off to get people to dogpile the players he was bullying, and the fact that the fucking mods of ryslig decided it was appropriate to bitch about their players by name.

tbh with how easily people jump to sail mod's defense whenever any slightly disparaging remark is made about them on anoncomms (or if we're feeling suspicious, that they sameanon to make it look that way) it seems like the playerbase doesn't know or doesn't care that it is trek
