on average once or twice a year, when frustrations build up enough over something not worth starting drama over, i make a generalized anon comment to get it out of my system.

Back when I was rping with PSL anons and meme randos only? I'd complain to my rp friends when I got some really crazy tag from people who totally ignored my refs or (true story) sent me a sentence-by-sentence breakdown of why my tag response seemed insufficiently enthusiastic.

Now that I'm in a game? ...Almost not at all, actually. Everyone I play with is very nice and even people who rub me a little the wrong way I can tell it's just a matter of difference in preferences or communication, not actual toxicity.

I usually complain about inactive castmates or awkward tags to a close friend, but try not to name names. If they were an asshole, I'd tell my friends and siblings but without explicitly naming them. I don't want people to get dragged, and often if I end up complaining about someone, I'd just remove them later because if it got to that point we are probably too incompatible.

that said i complained very explicitly this year to my bestie after a psl partner sent me 3 PMs about how they felt pressured into playing a kink they weren't into (my character was just talking about cannibalism because he's an LEO), deleted the whole psl before i could respond (we were like 50+ comments in), then tracked down one of my emails to email me a long "apology" that basically said it was my fault and could we do something different.

i said no and gave my bff a comedy sunday special.

if your mother is dying and you're worried about your slot in an online game then you're an even bigger piece of shit

I keep it to trusted friends and try to do it a few times a year max. If I catch myself so vexed I need to complain more than that, it's a sign I need to change something (drop the game, unfriend the person, whatever).
