I really don't get the attitude of backburnering psl tags once you're in a game. For me PSLs are where I get to jump right to the good stuff, the kind of cr and plot that makes me love rp. The only exception is til AC is made, one that happens PSLs are right up there on the priority list with my game tags.

The thing that really makes this a strawman argument is that you've made the assumption that there is a group of people (youse guys) who were against and later accepted e-readers, digital cameras, digital illustration AND who are against AI. You're demonstrating an informal fallacy known as irrelevant conclusion. That is, you're fucking missing the point.

Even if 'youse guys' who think that AI is just another word for "algorithmic stealing and repackaging" were the same people who had previous ill opinions of e-readers, digital cameras and digital illustration, that doesn't matter, because AI is, in fact, shitty theft that harms real artists. Any opinions about other tech (including digital cameras, which rose to popularity in the 1990s and are part of the native tech landscape for most of us, so where the fuck is this coming from, grandma?) are unrelated.

Thirded, PSLs are the way. Games these days have lost a lot of luster for me because I'm not really interested in having crosscanon CR with the characters from "popular" canons like Genshin so I'm happier writing interactions and scenarios with a character I enjoy reading about and threading with.

Games have that element of obligation where you have to make AC, tag people who tag you even if you don't have much investment in the CR, etc. I'm not yet at the "join games to find PSL partners" point like some players but certainly near it.

I'll be honest that the main appeal of games for me is having free detailed prompts with some sort of continuity that lets me just write something everyone in that room wants to do.

PSLs are fun but I am lazy with generating my own ideas, and memes are an even bigger hit or miss for people I want to play with that won't flake on me.

this one i'll give people a pass on because i live in a place that normally gets hot and humid in the summer but i've never seen it this bad for this long in the 15+ years i've lived here. i don't even want to see what my energy bill is going to be for this month and i haven't even been trying to keep my place overly cool, i have my thermostat set at 76. anyone who doesn't have central ac is definitely going to be suffering here right now.
