i've tagged with them, they're not that bad imo

definitely one of the worst offenders for wildly ooc tfln toplevels though. i don't mean the character being drunk and horny like everyone on tfln but stuff that doesn't fit the universe at all. no attempt to tweak any of the prompts

can confirm even if they stop that broken record skipping, the rest of the song is just as dull

don't forget 'i can do (thing) better than you' and 'i am only going to talk about myself and ask no questions'

honestly I don't care how many games a person is in with the same character if:
- they remain consistently active in all their games. they aren't barely scraping by on AC, constantly hiatusing to focus on events in other games, or playing just for their ship and ignoring other CR.
- they are reasonably good at playing the character and not doing the "this is my blorbo, about whom I have 234574 headcanons all of which are the objective truth, and who definitely never did anything wrong" thing.

you're not obligated to leave character spots open for other people if you want to play that character and no one's currently doing so. but it's a dick move to take up a character spot just to occupy it, and there's absolutely overlap between the kind of people who want to play their one character in all the games and the kind of people who think they're the only one who plays that character well (because they have a huge amount of non-canon stuff they're projecting onto the character and have made them unrecognizable.)

he's just a very negative person. ime he's not going to gossip or godmod or start ship drama but he's unpleasant to talk to, seeks out negative cr so his characters can be mouthpieces for him to be a dick through, and complains and bitches constantly about games not being run how he thinks they should be run. he's come up on wg before and there's never "wank", he just sucks all the air out of a room. bad call to give him mod powers.

ngl i've been on pel's plurk for years, he is a negative person but i've never seen rp or game complaints. where's he doing all this bitching?

typically to mods and in feedback or ooc posts. i'll give him that, he's forthright and doesn't do the whole death by a thousand grapevines. he also often makes good arguments or suggestions in theory, but fails to grasp the impossibilities of implementing his ideas in practice. that's part of why his modding initiatives have largely failed in the past: he gets bogged down in details he can't manage and that everyone else just hates dealing with, because fundamentally everyone dislikes the bureaucracy elements of rp much more than they do dealing with the pockets of dissatisfaction they'd address.

take this AC tone shift, which i admit i'd also peg on pel: you can see what he's trying to do there, by exterminating the malady of people who talk about rp far more than they do it. we've all dealt with that one castmate or quest partner who always got gung ho in the plotting stage, then never turned up, and minimal threading materialized. we've all rolled our eyes and wished they'd drop already, so someone who actually wants to rp could step in. but the 0.01% of more happiness i'd get from having that no longer be an issue doesn't balance the pain in the neck of making sure every month that i meet an ultra specific (yet at the same time vague) metric.

was there some drama reason all those people left, or is saltburnt just the new hotness?

i kinda lowkey root for them because playing from book canons in this hobby is an uphill battle to say the least. plus their character is medieval based which is a double whammy. i still remember when got was all the rage and the fadcanon players were all rolling with modern aus to spare themselves the headaches.

but after trying to write with them twice i decided it would be better for the both of us to lowkey root for them from a distance.

sad to see they haven't improved any since then.
