namedrops: Tifa, Mal, and Prox
• why: mods used their power to intimidate and sought feedback they felt entitled to. assigned blame for others' feelings and attacked op's character. op also believes mods were stonewalling and alienating from their CR

november 2023
in-game titles introduced
• op felt rubi was turning into a faction game, complained to Mal as a friend with concerns about favoritism, halting progression, and game balance being affected
• noticed negative consequences for wanda while other players' (including a mod) characters received softer consequences. believed the change would discourage players who were already not gaining

• rubimods pm'd op to invite an open discussion, which op didn't appreciate since mal took the complaint to speak for op without permission
• op replied, noted bad experiences with discouragement at a prev faction game, asked for clarification on recent wanda punishment*
• mod said rubi isn't a faction game, characters and players aren't in a competition, and wanda's fallout is all done-zo
• op thanked for clarifying in pm screenshot, but left a note in the post itself that rubi p much became a faction game in march 2024

• op rolled with it, just wanted to move on

• op told a mod as a player they weren't interested in the direction of their potential thread
• op wrote this in the post: I think favouritism came into play, and the mods wanted to control me.

• op received a two-part mod pm 13 minutes after commenting in the compliment thread
• mods said there were complaints against op regarding slender plot and op not knowing how to plot with wanda's powers without interfering with other players; implied op's ooc knowledge was spilling into ic knowledge for wanda which shifted the intended tone of the plot; and noted op's apparent crappy communication throughout the pm

• op seems to express doubt in the post about the claim that multiple players complained
• op did not respond to mods via pm and instead uses the post to respond I guess, I didn't read it

also worth noting that any claims that op complained to mods on a player-to-player basis (rather than player to mod) is based on what jade wrote in the post. no evidence of that (as well as jade allegedly planning on eventually reaching out to mods formally) being clearly communicated was provided.

my last smut thread topped 200 comments and maybe only 20% of those were actual smut. the rest was all buildup and then pillow talk afterwards with the characters feeling relaxed enough to let their walls down around each other for a while.

definitely a skill issue if you're not getting good cr out of your smut threads.

something that stuck out to me was her rant about player NPCs because it seemed out of place and more about a specific player than just the player npc management

I had her create her smithy as I felt uncomfortable by player-driven developments in this NPC setting that were not communicated to me. I was uncomfortable that an NPC I had no involvement in creating (and had created, but was not asked if I had created to fill the position of Head Blacksmith, despite being the only player character who stayed consistently under the blacksmith heading) and was thus under the full control of that player had an opinion on my character. (How much of that NPC's opinion was the player's when the mods made it blatantly clear that player-driven NPCs were under the control of the player who created them?)

And then when you look who created the head blacksmith npc, it turns out it's Eppy/Nikolai's player, so there really does seem like there's been cast issues forever now

So... she created a smithy? And then she created an NPC for it(?) but someone else, the nikolai/eppy, created a Head Smith NPC who they control? So she's upset that the NPC created by someone else might have a negative opinion about her character that reflects the creating player's opinion of her as a person?

So presumably she wants to be able to take over/control other people's created NPCs or make them not(?) create NPCs who might have an opinion about her character because she thinks that NPC opinion might reflect their opinion of her or her character (negative)??? Or maybe she just hates the game's NPC system and is telling the mods it should be scrapped? Unsure.

there's no reason she couldn't have made up a different blacksmith though and say zoya worked with that one though.

if you look lots of players create npcs that they need for a plot or so their character can have a job and it's never mattered if two or three npcs had the same kind of business.
