what could anyone possibly have against Lab? They haven't had wank and there's never been any major controversies or problems. What about it makes it a "containment zone"? It just has players you don't like, is that it?

nothing wrong with the game itself, but has very lax app standards.

hence why players like blue/weefolk who have been unwelcome at most other games (including folkmore) are there instead

+1 lab's been wankfree as far as i can tell, power to them, but there's a handful of players on the taken list that are boring writers, or are kind of neckbeardy and obtuse. harmless, but, wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to avoid them.

Lab is wankfree partly because nobody speaks up when they encounter issues. I transitioned as a trans person and they insisted that if I stay, I state my deadname everywhere when speaking. This made me uncomfortable so I left.

if you had proof of this, and it played out exactly as you stated, you would have 100% brought it to wankgate immediately since you clearly already go here.

literally the only instance i can see of this happening and being accepted is someone like g/gsai/gonsai whose handle is already a fakeass word and a change would be seen as an attempt to pretend to be a different person to avoid their reputation, not leaving behind a deadname.

yeah fm hasn't either, but they're not picky about how well someone writes, the only app standards are if people are assholes and not if they're decent RPers

there's only one or two players who stand out as particularly bad imo but that's ymmv

the game has a cool concept and started with good players, the mods seemed invested. cool ideas! i liked the game for a while even with things getting iffy, but ripped the bandaid off a couple months ago.

the players who write good and fun tags aren't very active and are also the minority. most of the game is just boring, though, so it's not like there's juicy wank. the bad stuff is boring too.

it does have a high concentration of players who get uncomfortabley intense about their canons and how everyone else is wrong about their blorbos. it's probably not even a half dozen, but the clustering together makes it stand out more.

there's one player who makes a big show of joking about how his characters and himself are so unlikable and ties it back to shipping a lot. woe is me and all that. i dealt with that in a game before, it gave me the ick there and it gave me the ick here too

the mod team is almost completely new mods from when it started, which is where app situation changed from the kind of low standards a lot of games have to no standards at all, kind of. but weefolk was one of the earlier appers too so who's to say

folkmore is generally lax about a lot of things and definitely a "do whatever have fun" kind of base but idk about "containment zone," they've got a long list of banned players

I suspect fm's mods would love to know about it, since they've been very receptive to warnings about people they shouldn't let in. Probably too late to remove anyone but they wouldn't be allowed back.

Idk anon they let in Art and even let them be an assistant mod for a while. Or was that Milk's doing? Art's one of those prebanned-from-other-games people. Sil, one of the current head mods, even has a ship with Art.

Juu stated publicly on her plurk that she warned the Folkmore mod team about someone that was apping and that she wasn't comfortable sharing a game with them. This was after Juu stepped down as head mod. The problem player didn't know anyone else in the game to get an invite, so the mod team extended an invite to them. lol. This was one of the reasons Juu eventually dropped the game. If the mod team treats a former head mod like that, what makes you think they'd look out for anyone else bringing their concerns to them?

and a number of really good writers who just like this kind of game or wanted a less intense second game, probably also true of labyrinthum! but unfortunately for both games they also have a couple of truly obnoxious people who i bet the current mod teams all wish they could boot but they were permitted by the original mods. when i was in fm i wrote with some amazing people but absolutely got annoyed out the door by one individual.

+1 this was my experience in lab too. great at first but then That One Obnoxious Player and their asspat brigade gets in and brings the ic and ooc quality of the game down.

in fm it's argustar who the mods have had to talk to about replying to someone's post multiple times because before that they absolutely would tag every net post repeatedly. but like some other anon said they listen when reprimanded so so mods cant get rid of them

fm seems a bit less of a containment zone lately. at least two or three people got prebanned from the game just tdming.
