is it hard to navigate by typing /profile into the url? some games and users on here have really shitty aesthetic layouts, but you can access everything through the profile usually or just view it as the site skin

new anon to this conversation, but that feels a lot like it defeats the purpose. i don't think all games/layouts have to be 'mobile friendly', but if you make it so that the thing you have out there to draw people in/display your game is impossible to navigate for a large chunk of people so they have to add in something to make it legible, you need to rethink your aesthetic. can i add in /profile? of course. but not everyone's going to initially think that and frankly, they shouldn't have to. your game layout shouldn't be stupid.

at the same time "this is a problem I could easily fix myself but I'm choosing not to do it" is also not a good look.

I hate 90% of the aesthetic on this site (journals that are just a single image and nothing else are bullshit imho) but I have learned how to navigate around it. honestly some games are so ugly with the same boring tessisiamess layouts it's kind of funny to have one that has made being ugly an aesthetic choice.

I normally would also agree with you except this game isn't trying to attract a large chunk of people to join it or navigate it. It's a private game where you have to know the mod. There isn't an invite request or even a way for players to invite other players.

like i said above, i can find ways around using the layout! i use /?style=mine, personally. but i thought we were commenting on why we didn't vibe with the layout. for me, it's not that it doesn't fit my personal aesthetic, it's largely a navigability and access issues. i'm not discounting that a lot of work went into it! it's just not checking an important box for me.
