it is but it's really inconvenient for our narrative that it's only abuse/assault when men do it so we don't talk about it

nta but it's an actual kink in some corners of the trans community, to surprise cis people (both men and women, straight and gay alike) when the clothes come off, or even to outright trick them

i went on an exhaustive search once for this and the answer is anything labeled yuri or shoujo ai is made for neckbeards, but that isn't surprising

better f/f relationships, as with better m/m relationships, tend to be in works where romance isn't the focus, which usually means it won't be labeled with any of those. looking for romance manga/anime is digging through the no-returns clearance bin for the same reason you don't go hunting through the bodice-rippers for good books

starting from yesterday:

- "wake up to you" is a very thinly-veiled repost of morning-after and there's someone in my bed

- "marriage meme" boring

- "once more, with feeling!" doesn't even mean anything if you're skimming, the gif doesn't help, and the premise as written is overly wordy as well as inherently crack, which isn't popular anymore

- "dark romance" is very broad for skimmers and has also never been popular, maybe for that reason

- "first meetings" has a few threads going, but "first" anything memes are usually unpopular

- "bodyshare meme" crack, see above

- "fuck marry kill" has threads

- "horny confessions" has basically always flopped, if i remember right

- "unsent texts" seems to be doing fine

- "not so happily married" never does numbers, continues to get reposted

- "pros and cons of dating your character" has threads

- "room you can't leave until you x" has some interest checks (though as a meme scientist phd i'd say it probably suffers from attracting people who want smut but can't tell if they'd look like cockhops if they tried that angle with otas)

- "IC testimonials" is one of those annoying memes where you basically don't have to be IC, i don't know how other people feel about those but i skip them automatically

- "romantasy" is extremely broad for skimmers, image doesn't make it interesting

- "love from afar" sounds like a drabble not a thread

- "favorite part" has threads

- "winter fluff" has gotten reposted a lot recently, and any meme explicitly called 'something fluff' is usually stagnant

- "i'd date that" has threads, i'm sorry to report

- "stray" has threads

- "massive smut starters" has threads

- "enemies to lovers" has threads

- "extreme weather" has flopped every time so far, probably because it doesn't really facilitate shoving characters together

- "shippy & smutty questions" has threads

so what are you mad about specifically?

i've found some pretty enjoyable gl (including romance-focused), but they're usually manga or webtoon. they're not the thing that gets picked up by animation studios.

As the anon above mentioned, it's rare to get yuri anime, especially anything featuring adult women. The anime out there is often centered around high school girls, which gets labeled as made for neck beards.

The adult GL works are more in manga and light novels, or webtoons, or coming out of indie/smaller studios. Thailand has started producing GL dramas that are getting increasingly better (higher production, better writing quality, more marketing). These are definitely made with women in mind as the audience.

I do agree that the better f/f relationships are in things that aren't romance focused, but that tends to leave things ambiguous. Though a lot of m/m ships come out of stories that also do leave things ambiguous between the male characters.

what does make meme posters repost the same memes that flop 100% of time over and over and over? i've never understood it.

nfn but prox has a biblical length wank history, it would not be out of character for them to be stirring shit out of spite for whatever imagined slight caused them to drop. same thing happened when they left rubi.

da

I don't know who you're talking to anon but the only fond things I've heard about this game have been from people with really thick rose tinted glasses on. Everyone else talks about it like it was the trenches lol

(Anonymous) 2025-01-25 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
not gonna lie, the concept and style of execution were pretty novel at the time, and some of the missions and the way in which the various groups were allowed to contribute were pretty cool. the mods weren't afraid to let players fail a mission, giving things a stake - though that enjoyment wore off once players started realizing that some missions were heavily stacked against them and designed without offering them enough information to ever 'win.' the quality of players was solid, at least wrt the characters representing canons i knew (app sessions were an absolute bloodbath, as a result), though as with most mission-based games, cdc attracted its share of players who wanted their character to be the token Chosen One / Big Bad Hero.

there was definitely a fair bit to like, which is why people kept their mouths shut until things exploded at the bitter end. but i wouldn't say many people consider cdc an overall positive experience. i was in the minority that was neither targeted nor favored by the mods and my short time in the game was uneventful, but the stuff that came out after left a bitter taste.
