i haven't played from a non-obscure canon in almost a decade now and i'm constantly drowning in tags. all of my character journals have detailed info/permissions posts so that people can tell from a glance if the character is one they want to play with and i try to write interesting starters that incorporate aspects of the other character's canon if i'm tagging crosscanon on memes.

it works surprisingly well for getting tagbacks and people who hit you up for multiple threads.
