nobody is doing anything wrong strictly speaking but if one person played 2 personas or 2 final fantasys or 2 fire emblems from different games in the franchise in a dwrp setting where these casts have hit cap more than once? they'd get the side eye too

it doesn't have to be wrong to be weird or insular because we all know franchises like hoyos AND the others listed above treat each other like castmates as far as priority is concerned

games have definitely had canon caps for entire series with wildly different entries before. i've seen final fantasy and capeshit get lumped under one massive umbrella for sure, and people used to regularly come here to moan about how they couldn't have fifteen lokis running around buttfucking each other

blanket term for all the superhero canons and their fifty million individual universes. using marvel as an example, you have the mcu, 610 main comics canon, 1610 edgy ultimates comics canon, marvel zombies canon, house of M verse, etc etc and you could have a spider-man running around from each and every single one.

god I forgot the marvel video games are their own thing. not to mention the deadpool movies apparently crossing over with the x-men movies since they're all actively hiding from him in that one scene, plus the massive clusterfuck alt universe shit we see in deadpool & wolverine.

all of this and no one has the balls to play spiders-man, the one made of literal spiders.

which to add, op was definitely referring to 1610 because that WAS the edgy version (lol mark millar) that the avengers (mcu) was originally based on.

hickman's 6160 ultimates universe is, so far, a LOT less edgy.

i can see where the complainers are coming from sometimes. some mods will just throw all final fantasies or cape characters into one category but canons like game of thrones/hotd get separate caps. there needs to be consistency if you decide to do this in a game.
