honestly ever since finding out about bruce willis doing terrible movies after being diagnosed with dementia in order to make sure his family had money to live on, i've stopped judging older actors for doing whatever they need to honestly

most movie stars might not be as close to poverty as the rest of us but they're still not even close to the actual wealthy elite either

ever since billionaire discourse became a mainstream thing it's become obvious that there's a lot of people who can't imagine a difference in wealth past a certain point

someone bought a mansion in the hollywood hills back in the 90s for $4m: i couldn't afford that, therefore billionaire

someone has a disease that costs them $300k a year to deal with: i wouldn't be able to do that, therefore billionaire

i've seen people unironically claim that making 60k a year means you're middle class and have no place to complain about finances

yeah it's absolutely wild how many grownass adults i've met who seem to have zero concept of money whatsoever. and i'm not talking in the "they're so rich they never need to think about money" way, i'm talking about just plain not having any idea of how much things cost.

like i once got accused of being rich because i had saved up to go on a cross-country trip to see my favorite band in concert. this was a bucket list thing and i had saved for more than a year/budgeted for it, booked my flights and hotel well in advance to save money, sold off some old stuff i didn't want anymore for extra spending money for the trip, etc. but apparently being able to afford (with careful planning and budgeting) something they couldn't afford meant i was rich. wild.

yeah, the geezer teasers dont offend me, i just wish they'd get people who actually want to be there.

they're on the same level as putting a known name in a bad role for me, like chris pratt getting shoved into everything

yeah this is where i'm at. idc that older AAA actors are still acting, i care about what a lackluster job they tend to do because they don't want to be there in the first place and skip those movies as a result. they generally don't seem to give a fuck and phone it in where a newer, hungrier actor is likely to put their whole pussy into a role

I know people have Feelings about the boys in general, but I really liked its spinoff gen v because it was a whole crop of actors I hadn't seen in fucking everything already and they did a great job overall
