the game doesn't enforce any sort of consistency with your tav/durge's personality so technically you can befriend all of the npcs if you want to, it just means you have to be wildly inconsistent with your actions and responses. which of course doesn't work if you actually want to rp them with any sort of set personality.

it's possible to play a consistent character, you just have to have the right companions in your party when doing things. for instance i never bring astarion along when i plan to do good deeds, but when camp scenes are triggered (which there are a lot) it's possible to win points by being nice to him.

on the flipside doing something that nets you disapproval doesn't always end up with the better outcome (see: ascended astarion), which is what i liked about bg3. sometimes playing a yes man to your crushes isn't the answer.
