ehhhh i can see how a response like that would be taken as passive aggressive and talking thru your character tho.

best way to handle this shit is not acknowledge it, and if some crosscanon cr brings it up, politely ping the player, say you don't subscribe to the headcanon, then they roll back commenting on it. thing is, it's such a small thing that it honestly didn't need to ever come back to haunt anyone. i can get it being annoying if there was a pattern of those two injecting headcanon for the whole cast like this, but just once is w/e
