Do you know how fucking hard it is to do those lists and keep all that fancy coding? If there were a lot of drops and hiatuses and shit going on, I wouldn't want to keep all that code in line, either.
I don't think they've given themselves a free pass, or they wouldn't have taken an honest eval of the game and said "look guys we're not meeting your expectations, so we're gonna be done here soon".
When you can't be assed to do your lists, and no one else is lined up at the door assed to volunteer to pick up lists, then setting an end date isn't a crazy move.
i'm a listmod at another game and you really don't have to know much coding at all to update them you literally just erase the line with the character's info, dude
